Lisa Simonds has a strong interest in the contemporary environmental context of visual arts and her work was recently included in the 2015 summer exhibition, Art in the Park,Worcester. She received a BFA in Sculpture from the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts in 2007.
Lisa is currently the Residency Program Coordinator at I-Park Foundation, Inc., an international artist-in-residence program located on 450 acres in East Haddam, CT. She continues to work as an Independent Exhibition Installer at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum in New London, CT. Previously, she was the Academic Services/Exhibitions Coordinator and Art Store Manager at Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts in Old Lyme, CT. With a background in high-end residential design and construction, Lisa has a keen sense of spatial design and technical practice that complements her artistic approach to her professional work and studio practice. Lisa’s studio, simonds art works, is located in The Velvet Mill in Stonington, CT where she draws inspiration from the nearby marine environment.
